Communications Security
  By verifying the suitability of cryptographic equipment, producing code books, licensing and controlling cryptographic activities applied to protect state and official secrets, the Information Office contributes to the safeguarding of the secrets of the Republic of Hungary and NATO.

In compliance with the Act on national security services, with a nation-wide authority, the Information Office provides professional guidance, official licensing and control of cryptographic activities aimed at protecting classified data. The Information Office conducts this duty through the State Communisations Security Authority, operating within the Office (e-mail address: or@mkih.hu ). All issues related to cryptographic activity is defined in a special governmental decree (43/1994. on cryptographic activity).

The State Communications Security Authority also discharges the duties concerning the cryptographic devices installed to protect classified NATO data.
